"After more than 35 years as the chef in some of San Francisco's and Hawaii's local favorites, such as Washington Square Bar & Grill, Canlis Grill in Hawaii as the Fairmont, Rue Lepic, and the Gold Spike, I dreamed of owning my own place...a neighborhood spot where I could entertain guests as if they were in my home. We'd serve generous portions of comforting, slow-cooked foods with an extra share of "Aloha.." In 1994 I finally found the perfect spot and "Rick's" was born.
